Amberly is the main sex worker featured in Jess Klein’s article “iWantClips’ Accidental Data Leak Has the Industry Shook” for Input Mag. It details Amberly’s personal experience with doxing, threats, and fearing for her personal safety. The recently iWantClips data leak brought Amberly back to the horrific first doxing and made her worry about her family’s safety. Although the company referred to the data breach as “minor,” many IWC models disagreed, but they came together to collectively deal with it. Many deleted their accounts and are considering a class-action lawsuit. Klein’s article highlights the importance of stronger protection for sex workers’ information and also features thoughts from attorney Corey Silverstein and multiple clip artists. “I’ve never told my whole doxing story, but it was time that I did, and why protecting our data is so important,” says Amberly Rothfield. “Thank you, Jess Klein, for letting me tell my story. I never revealed the name of the person who doxed me, but I recently had to face them. Telling my story really helped me to deal with that, and I hope it helps others who have been through it.”
